August 2014 until January 2015 – After police officer Darren Wilson of the Ferguson Police Department killed Highschool student Mike Brown on August 9th, a new wave of civil rights activism arose in the United States of America. Hundreds of protests with thousands of people took place. The city of Ferguson called the National Guard and State troopers for help to master violent riots, but peaceful protester and media representatives were also hit by police tear gas, rubber bullets and unlawful arrests.
